Titan are currently assisting our client, a leading player in the freight forwarding industry, specializing in providing efficient and comprehensive logistics solutions. We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Customs Compliance Manager to join their team in Runcorn. This pivotal role will involve ensuring that customs processes comply with all relevant regulations, enabling smooth and compliant cross-border movements of goods for clients. The Customs Compliance Manager will be a critical link in their VIP service chain, contributing to our commitment to delivering top-tier logistics solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain customs compliance strategies and procedures to ensure the smooth and compliant flow of goods.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest customs regulations, tariffs, and trade agreements in the UK and internationally.
  • Oversee customs declarations, audits, and investigations, ensuring accuracy and adherence to legal requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, including operations, finance, and customer service, to resolve customs-related issues and optimize processes.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff members to ensure customs compliance awareness and competence.
  • Conduct regular internal audits to identify and address compliance gaps.
  • Liaise with external customs authorities, customs brokers, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Monitor and report on customs compliance metrics and KPIs.
  • Handle and resolve customs-related disputes and issues.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in customs compliance management within the freight forwarding industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK customs regulations, import/export procedures, and international trade compliance.
  • Strong understanding of customs clearance processes and documentation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and leadership abilities.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Customs Broker License) preferred.
