Job Summary:
The Construction Compliance and Safety Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all construction projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company safety standards. The role requires an individual who is highly detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to fostering a culture of safety and compliance throughout the organization. This position will lead the development, implementation, and enforcement of safety policies, conduct regular audits, and work closely with site managers, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure safe and compliant project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compliance Oversight:
- Ensure adherence to all relevant construction laws, regulations, permits, and building codes.
- Conduct regular compliance audits and inspections on construction sites to identify and rectify non-conformance.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure proper documentation, including permits, licenses, and compliance certifications.
- Safety Management:
- Develop, implement, and update safety programs, policies, and procedures in line with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards and ensure safe work practices are followed.
- Lead safety meetings, training sessions, and toolbox talks to promote awareness and adherence to safety protocols.
- Investigate any accidents or incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
- Reporting & Documentation:
- Maintain detailed records of safety audits, incidents, and compliance documentation.
- Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for safety and compliance, providing updates and recommendations for improvement to senior management.
- Training & Development:
- Develop and conduct training sessions for employees and subcontractors on safety and compliance standards.
- Keep abreast of industry best practices and new regulations, updating company protocols as necessary.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and external safety consultants during inspections and audits.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, occupational health & safety, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in construction safety and compliance management.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, construction codes, and local safety requirements.
- Certifications in safety management, such as OSHA 30-Hour, CHST (Construction Health & Safety Technician), or CSP (Certified Safety Professional) are .
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in safety software, Microsoft Office Suite, and project management platforms
- Strong understanding of construction operations and safety risks.
- Ability to influence and lead teams toward compliance with safety standards.
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and proactive risk management.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
- Proficiency in safety software, Microsoft Office Suite, and project management platforms (MUST HAVE PROCORE EXPERIENCE - A SKILLS TEST WILL BE CONDUCTED)
Work Environment:
- Based in Office and Construction Sites
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and navigate construction environments.
