A specialist heritage and conservation practice with a long-standing reputation for their work has a Conservation Architect job available! The team is engaged in a diverse array of projects, reflecting their long-standing reputation in the field.

Established in the 1940s, our client has worked on a wide range of historic buildings and conservation areas, which include residential property, marketplaces, public monuments, and places of worship.

Success has seen the practice open three offices, develop a team of specialist professionals, and build a strong network of external consultants, they are now looking to strengthen the London team further by adding a Senior Conservation Architect.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Guiding and mentoring staff and helping with the day-to-day running of the practice
  • \n

  • Lead the preparation and development of drawn and written documentation
  • \n

  • Attend client meetings throughout the UK
  • \n

  • Share historical expertise and knowledge within the team
  • \n

  • Provide specialist advice on pre-applications and planning applications
  • \n

  • Lead a team of technical professionals, and engage with stakeholders, contractors, and specialists.
  • \n

Required Skills & Experience

    \n
  • 10 years experience post qualification working on UK conservation and historic building projects
  • \n

  • Proven ability to lead a team of technical professionals, and engage with stakeholders, contractors, and specialists
  • \n

  • Demonstrate a good eye for historic design, with a thorough understanding of contractual procedures
  • \n

  • Experience in historical report writing and technical knowledge
  • \n

  • Experience working on restoration works on listed buildings
  • \n

  • CA/SCA RIBA; AABC; or equivalent would be desirable
  • \n

  • Full or Associate Member of the IHBC would be desirable
  • \n

  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Photoshop
  • \n

  • Strong knowledge of the planning process and conversant with the relevant environmental/heritage legislation and guidance.
