Job description:

Arrowsight is seeking a motivated individual to fill the position of Field Services Technician in the Boston region.  This individual must be an organized, detail-oriented, safety-minded, multi-tasker who possess some basic computer knowledge/internet experience, excellent communication skills, and have a flexible work schedule.  This position is heavily focused on job site safety requiring OSHA 30 Construction certification along with a minimum of 3 years construction site experience. Frequent travel may be required depending on workload; most travel will be returning home on the same day, but overnight trips will occur occasionally. Trips could be across the USA from time to time, but the primary focus is the Boston region. In addition to the Boston region, there will be at least a once per week site service that could be a 3+ hour drive each way.

 

Job Duties:

As an Arrowsight Field Services Technician, you will be responsible for deploying and servicing equipment located on our client jobsites in and around the Boston region.  This position requires climbing, lifting, and walking on uneven surfaces.

Some technical ability will be required – working with cables, fasteners, screws, and other hand tools. Driving a work van in and around the Boston region.

This role will be performed primarily on a variety of construction sites, including tall vertical construction (unfinished buildings hundreds of feet tall), large building projects, and other work sites like road and rail. This is a very physical role that will require frequent climbing of stairs/ladders, carrying or rolling/maneuvering large pieces of equipment by hand, and working at heights over 100 feet.

Strong knowledge and experience in Fall Protection Systems and Safety Standards:

·         Candidate must understand and adhere to all companies fall protection standards, safety programs and policies while on site.

·         Candidate must have previous experience and familiarity with a range of fall protection systems, standards, and the tethering of tools and equipment.

·         Candidates must have experience working within the boundaries of guardrails and other equipment used as protective barriers while working at heights.

·         Candidates must have the experience in properly using and caring for fall protection equipment in accordance with the manufacture’s requirements of his/her personal fall arrest systems (PFAS)

·         Candidate shall have experience and the knowledge in the proper use of Self-retracting lifelines and lanyards which do not limit free fall distance to 2 feet or less and shall be capable of sustaining a minimum tensile load of 3,000 pounds applied to a self-retracting lifeline or lanyard with the lifeline or lanyard in the fully extended position.

·         Candidate shall inspect his PFAS daily for any ripping in the stitching of his/her lanyards and look for tearing and deforming lanyards where the PFAS shall be capable of sustaining a minimum static tensile load of 5,000 pounds

·         Candidate shall have experience and knowledge of Anchorage points that shall be capable of supporting at least 5,000 pounds per employee attached.

·         Candidate must have the experience and knowledge that their Personal fall arrest systems shall be rigged such that an employee can neither free fall more than 6 feet (1.83 m) nor contact any lower level.

 

Candidate must be willing and consistently capable to receive and comply with necessary at height training and certifications for the full range of required safety practices regarding the identification of potential fall hazards in construction elevated environments, such as unprotected edges, holes, and uneven surfaces. 

Operating on a work site safely is a CRITICAL requirement! This includes situational awareness, thinking ahead, and reacting carefully if the environment changes.

Specific Requirements:

All candidates must successfully clear a background check and successful drug screen result.  Candidate must have and maintain a valid state issued driver’s license and be able to lift and move 50lbs.  Must have reliable transportation.  Minimum of High school diploma or equivalent.

SST certification will be required. If the candidate does not already possess this certification, the candidate will be expected to complete it within 30 days.

Salary

Salary range is $50,000 to $70,000 based on experience, education, training, and certifications.
