Responsibilities:

• To perform quality control construction observations for roadway and bridge construction, guiderails, general site work, maintenance and protection of traffic, drainage, earthwork, paving, concrete work, reinforcement steel placement, utility relocation work, coordination, and safety.
• Able to read contract documents and construction plans.
• Responsible for construction observation monitoring/tracking construction sequencing, cost, and performance decisions.
• Assure that proper document control, quality assurance and project records are kept.
• Assure quality and uniformity in the record keeping of various contracts.
• Work to be in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local codes/regulations and provide contract documents and standard details including but not limited to the construction plans, supplementary specifications, approved permits.
• Preparing the pre-construction meeting agenda, running the pre-construction meeting, and preparing/issuing.
• Participate in progress meetings to review the progress of the work and compliance with the contract documents and project schedule with preparation and distribution of meeting agenda, documents, and minutes.
• Reviewing, approving, recording, and maintaining SBE and State required documentation.
• Maintaining, reviewing, and recording all required State and County forms and documentations related to the project.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of construction inspection related experience, including roadway (earthwork, sub base, concrete and asphalt pavement, drainage, lighting, guardrails and pavement markings, signs, maintenance of traffic related inspections for day or nighttime operations.
• Bridge construction inspection experience.
• Valid Driver’s license.
• NICET .
• Strong PC Skills, in Microsoft Office.
• Strong time management and attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Knowledge of NJDOT road specifications. New Jersey Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction – 2019 and the New Jersey Department of Transportation Standard Construction Details for Roadway, Traffic Control and Bridge - 2016
• Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
