Structural Building Systems is actively seeking qualified candidates for the position of full-time Maintenance Mechanic. We are looking for a self-motivated individual with a strong mechanical background to join our team. The selected candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of various construction equipment and machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform regular inspections, maintenance, and repairs on construction equipment, including but not limited to excavators, bulldozers, loaders, other heavy machinery, trailers, crew trucks, and various small engine equipment.
- Conduct preventive maintenance activities in accordance with established schedules and guidelines.
- Maintain digital records of all repairs and maintenance conducted on equipment.
- Work collaboratively with field personnel to assess equipment requirements and address any concerns.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies while performing tasks.
- Maintain an organized inventory of tools and equipment.
- Ensure that the work environment, including parking areas and grounds, is kept clean and organized, while consistently adhering to safety protocols.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a technical degree or certification in diesel mechanics, automotive technology, or a related field is .
- A minimum of two to five years of experience as a mechanic, ideally in a construction or heavy equipment setting.
- Possesses in-depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and repair methodologies.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a keen attention to detail.
- Demonstrates strong communication skills and a proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Proficiency in welding or fabrication skills would be advantageous.
- A valid driver's license is required; a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is .
- The candidate must be able to frequently lift or move items weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move items weighing up to 100 pounds.
- Proficiency in navigating uneven terrain.
- The individual must possess the ability to frequently use their hands to manipulate, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls, and to reach with their hands and arms.
- Ability to perform duties in diverse environments, including outdoor settings and restricted spaces.
