Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Construction Manager to lead a £3M commercial refurbishment and fit-out project of a live building in Central London, project value circa £3m over a 6 month period. The project involves significant structural alterations, including the installation of a new staircase, followed by a Category B fit-out to transform a commercial space into a high-functioning workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the day-to-day operations of the construction site, ensuring the project is delivered on time and to the highest standards.
Oversee the structural alterations, including staircase installation, and manage the subsequent Category B fit-out.
Work closely with the project team and subcontractors to coordinate activities and resolve any issues that arise during the construction process.
Ensure all safety, compliance, and quality standards are adhered to.
Conduct regular site meetings with stakeholders, including clients, architects, and designers, to keep them informed on progress and address any concerns.
Monitor and manage project programme and resources to ensure project objectives are met.
Maintain effective communication with all parties involved, providing updates and reporting on key milestones.Key Requirements:
Proven experience as a Construction Manager, ideally with experience in commercial refurbishment and fit-out projects, including structural alterations.
Strong knowledge of structural and architectural processes, particularly with staircase installations and fit-out works.
Ability to manage multiple contractors and subcontractors, ensuring smooth project execution.
Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and leadership skills.
Proficient in construction management software and project management tools.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
A relevant degree or professional qualification in construction management is desirable
