About the Position:Seeking a Construction Manager to oversee and guide preconstruction activities.Responsibilities:• Oversee and guide preconstruction activities including design, constructability reviews, contract packaging, procurement, and delivery methods for delivery of the IOS. • Review the procurement documents prior to advertisement and guide the development of performance vs. prescriptive specifications and the other technical requirements and specifications to be included in the procurement documents. • Implement and foster claims avoidance techniques early in the project development and engineering phases. • Provide procurement support as described in this SOS. • Develop the Construction Management Strategy and Plan for the project for on-time, within budget completion of the construction works and oversee and manage the safety, quality, schedule, cost, interfaces, stakeholders, and community issues during the construction phase. • Supervise construction work and review progress of the construction work to assure compliance with contract.• Ensure that Contractor submittals are reviewed, responded, and resolved within applicable time frames.• Coordinate with Third Parties for permits, lane closure, construction updates and other matters as necessary for the progress of works.Requirements:• Approximately 25 years' experience in construction management of rail and transit projects. • Experience should include at least one alternative delivery contract. • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. • Professional Engineer registration is required. California PE is desirable. • Certification as Certified Construction Manager (CCM) is desirable.
