The Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS) is seeking interns to join our team this summer. As an IBHS , you’ll contribute to our mission of strengthening homes, businesses, and communities against severe weather—which means making a difference in the lives of real people. What You’ll Learn
As a Construction Operations , you’ll get experience in supporting IBHS’s research including, but not limited to:
- Performing physical tasks associated with construction and/or facilities management and computer-based management systems
- Maintaining digital communications and schedule for construction and facilities manager.
- Learning carpentry and/or facilities teams associated with each trade
- Gain insight into the tools, workload and skills required in this industry in a safe environment with conscientious and skilled crews
Qualifications:
- Be organized, detail‐oriented, and have the willingness to learn new technologies
- Strive for the highest quality of work, following precise instructions
- Work well in a collaborative multidisciplinary environment
- Be excellent problem solvers, both individually and as part of a team
- Be good communicators, with excellent writing and speaking skills
- Have basic computer skills including Microsoft Windows® and Office®
- Trello, Wrike, and/or P6 experience
- Carpentry experience
