Construction Project Assistant

  • Primary job function:     
    • Assisting Superintendent / APM / PM on jobsite with project logistics and oversight functions. 
    • Provide support to project team on jobsite safety issues, toolbox talks, material coordination/management, inventory control and quality control (punch list).
    • This person should be able to support the project team in various daily activities and tasks in a fast pace environment with frequently changing priorities.
  • Essential Roles/Responsibilities:
    • Assist project site team with daily safety monitoring and enforcing to include documentation as needed.
    • Assist with coordination of subcontractor activities, progress tracking, documentation and updates to project team for assigned tasks.
    • Project documentation as assigned to include: collecting subcontractor daily logs, material delivery documents, dumpster tickets, etc.
    • Document and report on quality control/workmanship issues throughout the punch process.
    • All essential roles and responsibilities are performed on a jobsite location.
  • Required Skills/Experience:
    • Basic understanding and operation of Procore and MS Office, excellent communication skills, teamwork skills, and problem solving.
    • Basic understanding of architectural design drawings and inventory reports.
  • Required Results/Habits:
  • Completion of assigned task in a timely and accurate manner, improved team collaboration, and gain general construction knowledge.
  • Punctual, organized, time management, and follows procedures / directions.
  • Physical Demands:
    • The employee in this position needs to regularly navigate a job site under construction while wearing PPE (e.g., hard hat, glasses, boots).  While working the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and hear; jobsite hours may run as long as 10 hours a day. The employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee will require the physical ability to climb stairs and ladders, lift/move 50 pounds and operate a forklift and/or pallet jack ( but not required). Performance of this job requires the ability to convey accurate information and converse effectively in-person, over the phone and through email. The position is also subject to travel using your own vehicle to job sites, and/or by airplane or train.
