Position Overview
- The HST Project Engineer (PE) is an integral team member responsible for teaming with a Project Manager (PM) and Project Superintendent (PS) to provide excellent client service and consistently deliver project success.
- The HST PE will provide best in class construction services to partners within commercial real estate community, which include tenants, architects, construction managers and building owners.
- An HST PE is expected to collaborate with multiple HST team members to streamline business processes, improve project efficiency, and foster an enjoyable work environment.

Specific Roles and Responsibilities: The PE will work with the PM and PS to take ownership and implementation of the following:
- Project Administration & Communication
- Act as “information hub” - maintain open dialog with the PM and PS; provide necessary and requested support to team members
- Submittal processing and documentation – Weekly/daily updates to submittal log and provide consistent subcontractor correspondence and follow up
- Identification of key schedule dates and durations to maintain project schedules
- Assisting and processing subcontract and change order documents
- Customer Service and Satisfaction
- Client and architect follow up/responses – preparing weekly project meeting minutes and preparation of Requests for Information (RFI)
- Complete weekly/daily site check-ins
- Monitor and track project quality control metrics and activities on a regular basis
- Estimating
- Assist with RFP response process and bid proposals
- Drawing and project document review
- Determine project schedule duration
- Determining scope and quantity take off for HST self-performed work
- Define subcontractor and material scope requirements
- Evaluate and qualify subcontractor and supplier quotes
- Change request tracking and estimating
- Pre-Construction Activities & Cost Management
- Request, review, and process subcontractor change orders
- Assist PM to manage and negotiate the Subcontracting and Material Procurement process
- Contract Terms and Project Financial Management:
- Assist PM to understand and implement the Owner Contract terms
- Collaborate with HST Site Superintendent to ensure project budgets are adequately managed to meet or better estimates
- Assist PM to manage and negotiate the Subcontracting and Material Procurement process
- Project Closeout
- In coordination with PS, create project punch list documents and ensure efficient punch list completion
- Implement and manage project close out plan; provide client with proper close out documentation to include O&M Manual, LEED documentation, and other client requested information

Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience working in construction projects, tenant improvements
- General comprehension of plans and specifications associated with project documents
- Must be proficient in Office 365 suite and have working knowledge of Microsoft Project
- Basic understanding of construction software such as Trimble ProjectSight (or similar) and BlueBeam
- (4) Year College Degree
- Experience in any project team role, meeting deadlines, simultaneous projects
