THE POSITION
The Project Engineer/Assistant Project Manager will work and collaborate with our Construction Operations and Project Management teams and play a key role in supporting the companys construction operations and contributing to the overall success of our projects. This position requires someone who is a highly motivated self-starter, yet still a team-player, who is goal-oriented, has a strong work ethic and attention to detail, and is willing to do what it takes to meet deadlines. Our team functions best in a collaborative and interdependent atmosphere, and this opportunity will provide just that as part of a tight-knit group within a larger company structure.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Track daily production of crews / manpower with Project Management Software (HCSSHeavyJob).
- Create and implement work plans for specified tasks.
- Closely follow project/crew schedules and update the Project Manager & Superintendent of daily progress.
- Track project quantities for payment.
- Ensure employee/crew time has been added and coded correctly for each specified task.
- Assist Project Managers and Superintendents in day-to-day activities.
- Participate in progress meetings and visit job sites to review project status.
- Assist with the development of best practices for Toebe planning and scheduling efforts.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and responsibility.
- Prior construction industry experience is .
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
- Effective time management and communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Works both in the field and office setting on a regular basis.
- Requires the ability to sit or stand for an extended period of time.
- Field work may include adverse weather, loud working conditions, and high levels of activity.
