JEM Unlimited Iron, Inc. has been in business since 2003. We are a design-build steel contractor and operate throughout California.

We are looking for an experienced Purchasing Assistant who responsible for partnering with monitoring stock levels, researching potential vendors, tracking orders, and updating order records. They conduct market research, evaluate vendor offers, negotiate prices, and maintain accurate records. Their goal is to make cost-effective purchases and ensure a fully stocked inventory.to plan and supervise a wide range of construction projects from start to finish. The ideal candidate will have an analytical mind and great organizational skills. The goal will be to ensure all projects are delivered on time according to requirements and without exceeding budget.

Responsibilities

• Monitor stock levels and identify purchasing needs
• Research potential vendors
• Track orders and ensure timely delivery
• Update internal databases with order details (dates, vendors, quantities, discounts)
• Conduct market research to identify pricing trends
• Evaluate offers from vendors and negotiate better prices
• Prepare cost analyses
• Maintain updated records of invoices and contracts
• Follow up with suppliers, as needed, to confirm or change orders
• Liaise with warehouse staff to ensure all products arrive in good condition

Requirements and skills

• Work experience as a Purchasing Assistant, Purchasing Officer or similar role
• Good understanding of supply chain procedures
• Hands-on experience with Quick Books
• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
• Knowledge of market research
• Solid organizational skills
