Position Overview: The Project Safety Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing all Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) aspects of a long-term project within the MEP or built environment sector. The individual will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe working environment, adhering to regulatory requirements, maintaining all safety documentation for the project and implementing best practices for safety across the project.

Responsibilities:

  • Safety Management:
    • Implement and enforce comprehensive safety plans and procedures for the project.
    • Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to ensure compliance with EHS regulations and company policies.
    • Identify potential hazards and risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Training and Development:
    • Plan and deliver safety training programs for all employees and subcontractors working on the project.
    • Ensure that all personnel are familiar with safety protocols, emergency procedures, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal safety regulations, including OSHA standards.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and standards and ensure that the project adheres to them.
  • Incident Management:
    • Investigate and report on any safety incidents or accidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
    • Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, inspections, and training.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate safety considerations into project planning and execution.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for all safety-related issues on the project.
  • Documentation:
    • Maintain comprehensive safety documentation, including safety plans, risk assessments, and incident reports.
    • Ensure that all documentation is accurate, current, and readily accessible.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Monitor safety performance and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
    • Stay informed about new safety technologies and practices and incorporate them into the project as appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • Certification in Safety Management (CSM)
  • At Least 3 years of experience in construction within MEP or Built Environment Sector
  • At least 1-2 years in Safety Management preferably in production, manufacturing, or other related fields
  • Strong leadership qualities and ability to self-start and work independently.
  • A Plus: Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or related field
