Construction Superintendent

  • Observe and engage in all aspects of construction from start to finish.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance of as-built construction conditions with contract documents/specifications. Document changes and communicate to all involved parties.
  • Coordinate with Design Professional Team any discrepancies found and communicate/document corrections/changes needed to the appropriate contractors/subcontractors.
  • Coordinate daily construction activities of all parties involved in the project within the jobsite.
  • Observe and enforce building and safety code compliance.
  • Identify value engineering solutions and submit options to Project Management.
  • Document delays and changes in work to Project Management.
  • Review/provide feedback on subcontract change orders, purchase orders, and other requests.
  • Investigate/document construction damage/accidents to ensure jobsite safety procedures.
  • Engage in jobsite labor related tasks to fill sub-contractor scope gaps and/or work with/oversee laborers/foremen for specific self-performed scopes of work completed in-house.
  • Be accessible to the Project Management Team and all contractors/subcontractors for on-site questions, follow-up and support.
  • Train/Oversee/Mentor other JCorp Design Build foremen/laborers to be effective in their roles and grow in their understanding and effectiveness on the jobsite.

Establish/Maintain Schedule and Site Readiness

  • Collaborate to develop, update, and manage project schedule.
  • Maintain a site that is clean of debris, organized, and ready for the next sub-contractor.
  • Lead consistent jobsite meetings with sub-contractors to communicate, forecast schedule, and problem solve issue that arise as it relates to material and manpower.
  • Proactively identify items needing addressed to move the project forward in a timely manner.
  • Actively forecast and prevent delays due to material and labor.
  • Prepare for adverse weather conditions or emergencies.
  • Implement, maintain, and enforce a site-specific safety program to include all subcontractors in accordance with OSHA requirements, local, state and federal laws.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the safety/quality control program.
  • Develop jobsite awareness to enhance a good Owner / JCorp relationship throughout the project in anticipation of continued future work. Make every effort to nurture and develop working relationships with contractors/subcontractors/suppliers involved in the project.

Daily Duties

  • Keep a daily log of work completed, personnel on-site, material deliveries, etc. Complete and submit weekly JCorp Project Reports to the Project Manager.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager to keep all drawing files, communication files, and coordination documents, both in paper and computer file format, stored in an established project file location(s). Documents to include but are not limited to: Permits, Inspection
  • Reports, sequential Requests For Information (RFI’s), Architect’s Supplemental Instructions (ASI’s), Shop Drawing and Product Submittal Logs, Contractor Change Requests, Approved Change Orders, A/E Observation Reports, Field Testing Lab Reports, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), OSHA Safety Recordkeeping, Punch list Management Items, Close Out Log, etc.
  • Keep an accurate redlined “as-built” set of Contract Documents for delivery to the Design Professional Team upon project completion.
  • Actively lead on site staff in delegating duties throughout the day/project.

Project Scope: Project size and responsibilities vary from residential to commercial projects. Regular check in meetings with project management to go over plan details, scope insights, schedule details, selections, and general project direction. Create and execute an overall project schedule in conjunction with Project Management. Regular meetings with the general superintendent to review schedule, site constraints, and subcontractor relationships. Actively participating in discussions of equipment/employee needs. Actively participate in project debriefing to include active sub contractor reviews.

Paid Time Off (P.T.O.) = Vacation and Sick Leave

Three weeks of P.T.O. per year. Hours are accrued accordingly per two-week pay period.

Employee will request P.T.O. hours two weeks prior to requested date for approval.
