Construction Superintendent (Commercial Building Project) Job Description
A contractor specializing in industrial redevelopment and is seeking an experienced and driven Construction Superintendent to join our team in Hartford, CT. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial building projects and demonstrate exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage structural steel & concrete from planning and scheduling to implementation and completion of this building renovation of an existing 130,000/SF warehouse facility.
- Develop and maintain short-term interval schedules, ensuring efficient project execution and adherence to timelines.
- Allocate resources effectively for assigned projects, including materials, equipment, and labor.
- Supervise and coordinate onsite personnel, subcontractors, and vendors, fostering a safe and productive work environment.
- Liaise with project stakeholders, including owners, inspectors, architects, engineers, city and county officials, and clients to ensure project requirements are met, and communication remains transparent.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, ensuring adherence to original plans, specifications, and industry best practices.
- Prepare and submit daily reports documenting project progress, challenges, and resolutions.
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of various trade skills, with a focus on structural steel experience. Knowledge of electrical and fire protection systems is a plus.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4-8 years of construction management experience, preferably in commercial building projects.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate teams and cultivate a collaborative work environment.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities, ensuring effective resolution of project challenges and timely communication with stakeholders.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and committed to meeting project deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
- Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification .
