If so, we have the perfect role for you!\n\nWe have a fantastic opportunity at HMP Durham to join the Novus education team as our Construction Teacher on a permanent, part-time basis working 22.2 hours a week.\n\nAt Novus we work with passion, care, and commitment to create the foundations for change.\n\nFor almost 30 years we have been helping men, women and children of all ages and abilities, in prison settings across England and Wales, to take new directions.\n\nThe LTE Group family encompasses the strengths of each of our individual organisations:\n\nThe Manchester College - further education | UCEN Manchester - higher education |Novus - prison education |Total People - apprenticeships |MOL - professional development.\n\nWhat the role entails\n\nAs a teacher you will develop and deliver high quality, learner focused education to meet contractual requirements and standards, you will deliver practical training in various construction trades, including Painting & Decorating, Plumbing, Joinery, and Bricklaying. Working with a group of up to 15 learners, your role will involve engaging and motivating individuals to develop their skills, knowledge, and confidence in the construction field. We are recruiting for a Multi-Skills Construction Teacher, or a Qualified Construction Tradesperson.\n\nWhat we need from you\n\nIn order to be successful in the role of Teacher, you will need:\n\nA teaching qualification or subject specialist qualification at Level 4 (Level 5 - new standards) with a commitment to obtain the relevant outstanding Level 4 (Level 5 - new standards) qualification within a specified time scale (required).\nHold at least a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy.\nTrack record of effective teaching in subject specialism.\nExperience working within any one of the following construction fields (Bricklaying, Joinery, p & D) \n\nResponsibilities\n\nDeliver high-quality, hands-on training sessions in multiple construction trades\nAssess learner needs and develop individualised learning plans.\nCreate a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and participation.\nMonitor learner progress and provide constructive feedback\nSupport learners in achieving there learning aims.\nStay up to date with curriculum changes and best practices in functional skills education.
