Contracts Manager - Direct Hire
Onsite in Houston, Dallas, Austin or San Antonio - potential for hybrid after 90 days
$70,000 - 90,000k/yr
As a Contracts Manager, you will play a pivotal role in developing, negotiating, administering, and managing contracts across various sectors, including construction, distribution, services, and real estate. You will be responsible for establishing and writing the company’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for contract management and workflow. Your role ensures that all contracts are legally compliant, well-documented, and efficiently managed from start to finish, with a focus on maintaining industry standards and best practices. This position can be based out of any of our offices in Austin, Dallas, Houston, or San Antonio, with a strong preference for candidates located in Dallas. We are also open to candidates who are willing to relocate.
Responsibilities
- Lead the management of professional service agreements, including design, construction, and maintenance contracts.
- Develop and implement SOPs to streamline the contract management process and ensure consistency across departments.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks in contracts under consideration by the organization.
- Ensure contracts align with local laws, regulations, corporate policies, and industry standards.
- Prepare, negotiate, and manage the entire lifecycle of contracts, including change notices, performance monitoring, and deliverable reporting.
- Maintain an organized audit file for each contract, including original documents, correspondence, amendments, and payment schedules.
- Monitor contract performance and ensure compliance with terms, identifying opportunities for improvement or cost savings.
- Coordinate with various departments, including operations, legal, and risk management, to meet contract requirements.
- Stay updated on legislative and regulatory changes affecting current and future contracts.
- Assist with contract-related queries, ensuring clarity on terms and conditions for employees, leadership, and external partners.
- Manage digital and physical records of contracts, utilizing systems like DocuSign, and oversee contracts from inception to signature.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in contract management or a related role.
- Strong knowledge of contract law and compliance.
- Experience writing SOPs and developing contract management workflows.
- experience in the electrical industry, or with general contractors or mechanical contractors.
- Additional qualifications in law or contract management are a plus.
- Excellent administration, analytical, negotiation, and mediation skills.
- Familiarity with construction, distribution, and services terminology is a plus.
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
- Ability to collaborate with various stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in document management systems; experience with DocuSign .
