As the Contracts Project Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating specialist supplier contractors, aligning tasks within their brief, to maintain and improve service level in an efficient and timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

• Steering the KPI monitoring towards target achievement through a structured reporting strategy and focused analysis of performance data.

• Verify that service provider processes comply with all the requirements and conform to all relevant standards.

• Prepare and deliver a continuous program of audits on the suppliers.

• Analyze the causes of loss, and manage any applicable supplier penalties, in order to maintain transparency of the value of service.

• Develop and use SLAs to ensure suppliers deliver the service required.

• Review contract specifications and recommend changes that will improve quality and align services to paint shop objectives. In collaboration with Purchasing, the Contracts Manager has a large degree of control to review and change the contracts as they expire and are reviewed.

• Communicate with both the production team and the service providers to align objectives and operational needs. Ensuring activities are planned and executed to schedule.

• Maintain H&S standards across all suppliers to ensure safe working practices are adhered to.

• Raise SVO’s as required to support necessary actions as agreed alongside production/engineering requirements.

• Participate in internal/external audits as required.

• Issuing and managing 3rd party schedule of work, ensuring adherence to budget.

Impact

• Drive continual improvement in Exterior Surface Finish Centre processes through systematic review of current supplier process performance, identification of improvement opportunities, and alignment to group standards. The continual improvement in supplier performance must be self-driven by the Contracts Manager.

• The role encompasses a broad range of service contracts. However, the magnitude of influence on the paint shop process is significant. Therefore, the ability to fine tune requirements to the specialist needs of the paint shop will have a large impact on sustaining and improving quality.

Purpose

• Identify performance gaps and process non-conformance with Service Providers.

• Track and approve closure of all corrective actions with respective contractors.

• Problems proven to be caused by the Service Providers are subject to penalties, and so tactful negotiation is essential to ensure that the pursuit of the root cause is not obstructed by the financial implications. This conflict must be managed to effect change, whilst maintaining an honest relationship with the supplier. The Contracts Manager must facilitate an open dialogue with the supplier whilst impressing Rolls-Royce standards on them.

Skills & Qualifications

• Education and Qualifications

• HNC diploma or equivalent

• 5+ years’ production experience within an automotive company or similar industry.

• Proven experience managing service contracts and using SLAs.

• Demonstrable understanding of paint processes.

• Knowledge of the BMW management system.

• Knowledge of manufacturing methods, factory experience, professional process qualifications, audit practice.

• Knowledge of relevant regulations, knowledge of IT

• Ability to manage internal customers and judge benefits to company

• Good working knowledge and experience of quality tools and problem-solving techniques
