Department of Adult Social Care - Safe and SoundSafe & Sound Control Room Operator - NightsBand 5-6: (Career grade) £23,114 - £25,979 pa (pro rata for part time post) + Allowances for Shift/Weekend/Night working. 1 x Night shift - Working a maximum of 36.75 hours per week over 7 days (Average; based on shift pattern and rota (rota including working weekends and Bank Holidays, Shift allowance applicable)Based at Safe and Sound, Cornerstones, Cottingley, BD16 1AQ Bradford Adult Services, Adult Social Care department operate Safe & Sound, a 24-hour community alarm service that provides a monitoring provision to older and vulnerable people throughout the Bradford and Airedale district. Our aim is to provide peace of mind and emergency support to users within their own home via the use of Technology Enabled Care. As a Control Operator you would be the main point of contact for our Safe & Sound users and will assist in coordinating responses according to individual need and departmental procedures. You will work alongside several internal and external agencies: Internal agencies such as B.E.S.T, social workers and support workers West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue GPs and District Nursing Teams Yorkshire Ambulance Services West Yorkshire Police Carers Resource Homecare Providers Family members External Housing schemes You will be required to record, maintain and communicate relevant information both in writing and verbally, in line with the Councils GDPR and data protection policies. You will be expected to have an understanding of the needs and issues faced by vulnerable people within our communities. You must have customer service experience including knowledge of telephone information/advice work and an ability to write concisely and legibly, together with experience of using computer systems/information technology. A background or understanding of the social care sector is desirable. We are looking for candidates who can work under pressure, making deployment decisions in line with service level agreements. You must have at least 3 GCSE grade A-C or equivalent, to include English, or additional experience demonstrating skills and knowledge at this level.
