Job Purpose: The Control System Design Engineer is responsible for the selection and creation of Building Automation System hardware design.
What You Will Do
- Reviewing and understanding project mechanical, plumbing, and electrical plans, P&IDs, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Produce design packages using AutoCAD, ePlans, and Microsoft Office Suite. Deliverables include:
- Panel Layout and design drawings,
- System wiring diagrams,
- Equipment Schematics & P&IDs,
- Network layout and wiring diagrams,
- Instrumentation and panel location drawings,
- Material selection, tagging, and creation of a Bill of Materials/Instrument List,
- Device and Equipment Schedules,
- Startup sheet development
- Provide technical support to the project field team.
Control System Design Engineer Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics or equivalent. (GPA requested).
- Degree may be offset by 3+ years of previous experience in a similar industry.
- Experience with AutoCAD software.
- Understanding of HVAC systems.
- Able to interpret plans, specs, and P&IDs.
- Familiar with different PLC hardware including Rockwell, Siemens, etc.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software.
- Experience with Bluebeam a plus.
- Ability to work in fast paced environment.
- Positive influence and ability to work on a team or independently as a self-starter.
- Ability to handle multiple projects.
- Good communication skills.
