New Permanent Opportunity!  DeltaV Control Systems Engineer

NES Fircroft is actively seeking a Control Systems Engineer with a strong background working with DeltaV for a permanent role with our client, an Automation & Engineering Firm, at their office in Alpharetta, Georgia!  This position will be supporting DeltaV Programming and configuration activities for our client's partners across Oil/Gas, Chemicals and Power Generation disciplines.

Our client in Alpharetta, GA is seeking a Control Systems Engineer - DeltaV to be responsible for programming, system configuration, factory acceptance testing, and field start-up and commissioning activities, specifically for DeltaV systems, among others.

Qualifications

B.S. Engineering plus 5 years of applicable work experience, or combination of education and relevant work experience.

 

Required:

  • Strong platform experience and proficiency programming DeltaV Distributed Control Systems
  • Strong proficiency with Modbus, Ethernet/IP, and OPC communications protocols
  • Familiarity with ISA tagging conventions
  • Solid grasp of control panels, panel wiring drawings, and field wiring diagrams:
  • Strong understanding of P&IDs, to include: 1) Ability to support the development of new P&IDs; 2) Ability to review and assess existing P&IDs; 3) Ability to develop Instrument & I/O Lists from P&IDs

 

Desirable:

  • Platform experience and proficiency programming: 1) PLCs (Allen-Bradley preferred); 2) HMIs (Inductive Automation Ignition, AVEVA/Wonderware System Platform, Rockwell FactoryTalk View, GE iFIX preferred); 3) Other (Omni Flow Computer, ROC, Load Metering Devices)
  • Development of both operational and technical manuals, to include training guides, HMI manuals, and operating procedures
  • Knowledgeable of Electrical Protection Relays
  • Knowledgeable of Historian systems
  • Knowledgeable of external notification systems (text, email, mobile app, etc.)
  • Familiarity with DeviceNet and/or Profibus communications protocols

 

Responsibilities:

  • Participates in the development of logic diagrams, cause & effect matrices, and functional narratives
  • Participates in the development and/or review of control panel design packages, field wiring diagrams, conduit & cable schedules, and associated E&I package deliverables
  • Attends field verification and user requirements gathering walkdowns
  • Develops DCS/PLC/HMI programming
  • Executes factory acceptance testing
  • Executes field start-up and commissioning, including support of troubleshooting activities
  • Contributes to and participates in client training
  • Provides best possible response after hours support for internal/external clients as required
  • Works with applicable Senior Engineering Lead(s) and Project Manager(s) to ensure quality of deliverable, budget adherence, etc. Keeps Project Manager(s) informed of progress, issues, need for change order, etc.
  • Travel +/- 25% with willingness to travel via air
