Control Systems Engineer
Job Description
The Role:\n\n We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Control Engineer to join our Control System Team.\n The successful candidate will be responsible for designing control and automation systems for a range of equipment in the Offshore Energy sector, ensuring that solutions meet clients’ needs efficiently and professionally.\n\n Key Responsibilities:\n \nDeveloping control system specifications, writing PLC code, and creating HMI/SCADA solutions for a variety of equipment. \nProviding technical support during the project construction phase, including commissioning and testing. \nEfficiently managing and prioritizing workload.
\nTaking full ownership of assigned tasks through to successful delivery within specified timeframes and budgets. \nDelivering high-quality work aligned with our software quality control procedures. Job Requirements:\n \nStrong technical knowledge of Control, Automation, and Safety Systems.
\nRelevant qualification in Computer/Engineering (degree/HND) or equivalent industrial experience. \nRelevant experience in: \nDesigning control and automation systems. \nProgramming PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems.
\nCommissioning and testing industrial control systems. \nEngaging in the full project lifecycle, from design through coding to testing, installation, and documentation. \nWorking with clients in the marine, subsea, oil & gas, and renewables markets.
\nRecent experience in a similar role within a bespoke engineering environment. \nWillingness to work from our Newcastle City Centre office, Blyth production facility, and client sites or vessels globally. \nExperience working to ISO9001 or equivalent standards in a project-based organization.
\nHigh proficiency with IT systems and tools. Desirable Skills/Attributes:\n \nExperience with Siemens TIA Portal / Unified (). \nFamiliarity with Rockwell or Mitsubishi platforms.
\nCompetence in configuring and commissioning Variable Speed Drives (Siemens, Nidec, and ABB). \nBackground in the Marine / Offshore / Subsea sectors. \nKnowledge of relevant functional safety standards (IEC61508, IEC61511, IEC13849)
