POSITION SUMMARY: Hands on Controls Engineer. Support assign projects to meet customer requirements for timing, quality and cost.
NATURE OF ASSIGNMENTS / DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support Controls Team, Electrical Designers, Electricians, and panel builders
- Expert PLC programming, operator interface programming and hardware design
- Work with application engineers to develop concepts and support sales engineers.
- Manage internal design reviews and participate in design reviews with customers.
- Develop project milestones with PM department.
- Provide cost estimates for controls design & build.
- Travel to customer sites will be required (10-15%)
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC
- PLC, HMI, Ladder logic Programming
- Allen Bradley, Micrologix, Guardlogix
- Hardware Design
- Fanuc Robot experience
- Travel 10-15% (for job start ups)
- Primarily local within driving distance
- Limited international to Mexico
- 1 day - 2 week durations
- Strong knowledge with engineering principles and procedures that apply to machine design, safety, risk, part handling and robotic EOAT.
- Thorough understanding of coordinated motion control technologies, PID setup, control and turning, mechanical drive train design including the application of stepper motors, servo motors, pneumatics and hydraulics.
- Advanced knowledge in Rockwell Automation PLC programming platforms
- Advanced knowledge of Rockwell Automation HMI development software: FactoryTalk View Studio ME, Studio 5000 View Designer.
- Vision system programming
- Experience programming and integrating Fanuc and Yaskawa Robots
- Robot Pathing and Internal I/O logic
- Interfacing with Connected PLC
- TCP and user frame teaching/adjusting
- Bachelor Degree in EE or Associates Degree with proven experience
- 3-5 years of professional experience in Electrical & Controls work, machine tool & automation
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift and move objects up to 20 pounds. Must be able to talk, walk, stand, and sit an office environment.
