Compensation range is offered however will be based on  your experience with machinery controls design and PLC programming. Our goal is to provide opportunity to those with 3+ to 20+ years of experience and REWARD for profitable and timely project completions.

Position basic responsibilities:

  • Creating, understanding, and implementing system designs for custom ACT systems that meet the Electric Code.
  • Interacting with ACT mechanical engineers and assembly personnel using excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Design schematics and interface with the company ERP/CAD system.
  • Create CAD drawings to support ACT's UL 508A Certified panel shop.
  • Ensure that ACT's UL Certified panel shop is supported and that all panels and electrical enclosures arrive at our factory location timely and accurately assembled per the drawings.
  • Establish bench test procedures and training regimens for panel shop personnel.
  • Complete work assignments on time to a target date with effective time management skills. Build schedules must be met for bonus eligibility.
  • Design to machine sequence of operation to select correct ACT PLC program or create new as needed and have the ability to use CODESYS to modify the program to suit the particular custom system build.
  • Work diligently on projects to meet or exceed required deadlines. Ask about bonus programs!

Basic Requirements:

  • EXPERIENCED CONTROLS ENGINEER
  • Degree is not required
  • Verifiable 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or customer service role as an electrical engineer or electrical designer.
  • Programming Allen-Bradley, or other popular brands such as IFM, Automation Direct, Siemens and CODESYS
  • Clean driving record and no felonies that would bar entry into federal facilities.
  • Must be able to climb a ladder, work standing for extended periods of time, and lift 50-lbs.
  • Work hands-on with the Assembly and Engineering teams to build the best machinery possible!
  • Create wiring and power distribution diagrams to fit the needs of individual projects.
  • Assist electrical support personnel with reviewing scope of work documents for electrical related design work and producing conceptual layouts.
  • Design and develop electrical components, systems, and equipment.
  • Plan and prepare layouts of electrical distribution systems, following standard engineering practices and adhering to customer specifications
