The Boeing Company is currently seeking an Associate Software Engineer (Level 2) to join the BDS Products and Capabilities team located in Berkeley, MO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

The Products and Capabilities teams design, develop and implement platform agnostic mission systems software solutions for tactical fighter aircraft. The selected team member enjoys working collaboratively with others, has a commitment to customer satisfaction and process improvement, and is successful working in a multi-contract/multi-program environment. He/she will support the development of solutions to a wide range of complex problems that require ingenuity and innovation. He/she should be adaptable to new development environments and eager to work with and learn new technologies.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assist with design, development, and implementation of various mission systems software capabilities, models and simulations (sensors, weapons, etc.)
  • Assist in use case and requirements development of software requirements
  • Develop test cases and unit tests for software in parallel with development of new functionality
  • Document test results
  • Participate in peer reviews
  • Work with more senior engineers on software architecture design and definition
  • Operate on a multi-skill agile development team that is responsible for requirements, design, development, testing, and support of advanced mission systems software solutions

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:

This position requires an active US Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

To be considered for this position you will be required to complete a technical assessment as part of the selection process. Failure to complete the assessment will remove you from consideration.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Possess a Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or other technical degree
  • 1+ year Experience using C++ or Python

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • An active U.S. Security Clearance
  • Experience working in Agile software development environment
  • Experience with modern software development tools (e.g. GitLab, Artifactory, Clang, Git, Cameo)
  • Aircraft Mission Systems experience
  • Aircraft Datalink or sensor experience
  • Aircraft Sensor Data Fusion experience
  • Modeling and simulation experience

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master)

In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

Travel:

Occasional travel may be required but would be less than 10%.

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Basic relocation will be offered for eligible internal candidates.

Work Shift:

This position would work 1st Shift.

Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range for Associate: $85,000.00 - $115,000.00
