The Corporate Planning Manager will be a key part of our talented and dynamic Enterprise Planning Team that has responsibility for ensuring that at any point in time the company has a single integrated and interlocked plan that all are working to deliver.
The purpose of this role is to ensure that DCC efficiently provides external parties with reports / submissions on time and to the defined quality.
To do that the Corporate Planning Manager will need to define the Corporate Report Calendar and understand what reports are sent to whom, when and for what reason. Efficiency opportunities should be identified having consolidated that information.
Primary responsibility is the coordination of the 4 key corporate reports that are provided annually to external stakeholders:
- 5-year Business Development Plan – Sets out DCC’s vision, strategy and plan for the next 5 years.
- Annual Report and Accounts – Details DCC’s activities throughout the preceding year, providing users with information about operational and financial performance.
- Annual Service Report – Provides users with information on suppliers used by DCC throughout the preceding year and their relative performance.
- Price Control Report – Provides the regulator with details of money spent on behalf of our customers to provide assurance that it has been spent in accordance with licence obligations.
Production of these 4 key corporate reports will require coordination of individuals at all levels of the organisation, including the CEO and Chairman. Consequently, you will work closely with ExCo members, senior leadership, programme delivery teams and functions including Commercial, Finance and Strategy & Regulation.
You will also be managing external parties such as designers, copywriters and an investor relations company through the process to ensure that the reports meet quality criteria.
The role will have a number of additional responsibilities:
- Coordinating more tactical, but no less important, submissions to Ofgem and government bodies such as the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero.
- Supporting the monthly Enterprise Planning Process that aims to ensure that the company has a fully interlocked as well as correctly sequenced and prioritised portfolio of initiatives that are deliverable for our customers and stakeholders.
What will you be doing?
- Confirm the list of all reports / submissions that are sent externally – what, when, to whom and for what purpose.
- Identify opportunities to efficiently rationalize the number of reports / submissions from DCC to external parties.
- Produce a Corporate Report Calendar that you then manage with the aim of ensuring that all reports are sent/submitted on time and to quality.
- Define the plan for production of the 4 key corporate reports that all need to be published by 31 January each year.
- Define and manage linkages / dependencies between the 4 corporate reports.
- Work closely with a broad set of internal stakeholders at all levels in the organization to efficiently produce the 4 corporate reports that are critical to projecting DCC’s historic performance and future strategy / plan.
- Manage external parties requiring to be engaged as part of production of the 4 corporate reports – companies that provide design, copywriting and investor relations services.
- Support with aspects of enterprise planning as and when required.
What are we looking for?

- Change Management – The ability to influence, shape and drive improvement initiatives and lead / deliver successful change in large, fast-paced and complex programme environments with multiple internal and external stakeholder groups.
- Collaboration – Excellent relationship development and management skills with the confidence to effectively challenge others where appropriate, including at ExCo and SLT level.
- Effective Communication – An ability to rapidly interpret complex technical information and provide clear, concise insight and reporting that drives effective leadership decision making.
- Stakeholder Management – Ability to manage a complex set of stakeholder interactions, both internal and external, and resolve conflicting priorities if required.
- Attention to detail and an analytical ability – Help propose solutions to problems and appropriately prioritise activities.
- Strong initiative and drive, self-motivated with an aptitude to work well under pressure and with low supervision.
- Values & Behaviours – Demonstrate a strong commitment to DCC’s values and behaviours, roll modelling these at all times.
Qualifications
- Batchelor’s Degree qualification.
- Industry recognised project management certification preferred.
