Data Architect - AWS - SC Cleared

SR2 is recruiting a Data Architect to join an inflight programme of work with a government department.

\n

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data architecture, cloud technologies, and experience with large-scale data management. The Data Architect will be part of the Technical Strategy team and serve as a trusted advisor to the CTO, Head of Architecture, and Head of Engineering, providing strategic consulting to design scalable, secure, and efficient data solutions that align with business goals.

Due to the nature of the role active SC clearance is required.

Experience required:

\n

\n
• \nExperience: 5+ years of experience in data architecture and design, with a focus on cloud-based data platforms.

\n

• \nCloud Expertise: Hands-on experience with cloud providers such as AWS, including services such as S3, Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks, etc.

\n

• \nData Management: Strong experience with data warehousing, data lakes, ETL/ELT processes, and real-time data streaming.

\n

• \nDatabase Technologies: Proficiency in both relational (SQL) and non-relational (NoSQL, key-value stores, etc.) databases.

\n

• \nBig Data Technologies: Familiarity with big data tools like Flink, Spark, Kafka, etc., as well as containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

\n

• \nSecurity & Compliance: Knowledge of security best practices, encryption, access control, and compliance frameworks relevant to cloud data environments.

\n

• \nCommunication: Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

\n

\n

This is a long term role offering a rolling 6 month contract outside IR35.
