We are working with a global multi-asset class quantitative trading firm to find a skilled Data Production Engineer to join their Data team.

About the Role
Data is at the core of their work, and they pride themselves on their ability to derive insights from all types of data allowing them to achieve constant success in a dynamic market.
You will be working directly with live trading teams to support leading automated trading systems, writing automation, exploring data, collaborating with the research and trading teams, and interacting with external partners.
As part of your work as a Data Production Engineer, you will:
- Write tools to classify, onboard, and reconcile data, as well as explore the data and automate tasks using a modern Python data stack.
- Parse, and understand data sets, as well as perform data reconciliations, validations, and quality checks.
- Identify and build new processes within the data request process to enrich the data, as well as assist the researchers in cleansing and featurizing data.
- Find anomalies in derived datasets and trace issues back to their source, including the use of a mix of deductive reasoning, technical analysis and communication with stakeholders in a data pipeline.
- Provide oversight of their data pipeline, handling inquiries from internal customers and resolving issues promptly.
About You
They are currently seeking a Data Production Engineer who is detail-oriented and excels in problem-solving and researching large datasets to resolve complex problems.
Essential requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in data engineering/science.
- An undergraduate degree or above in data science or similar.
- Experience programming with Python.
- Experience with financial data sets, such as Refinitiv, S&P or Bloomberg.
- Experience with at least one SQL dialect, such as PostgreSQL, MSSQL or MYSQL, and the ability to use or learn others when needed.
- Professional experience within a hedge fund or high-frequency trading environment.
Nice to have
- Experience in ETL pipeline management.
- Experience with the Linux command line.
- Ability to provide support in a production trading environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-team environment.
