Data Scientist/Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Scientist/Analyst to support the Air Force. The selected candidate will provide data analysis, visualization, and machine learning expertise to enhance decision-making and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather and analyze requirements by working with various stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into clear and concise data-driven solutions for IT projects and initiatives.

  • Conduct interviews, workshops, and surveys to collect information and document processes.

  • Analyze existing workflows and identify areas for improvement through data-driven insights and optimization strategies.

  • Streamline processes, automate tasks, and implement new technologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Assist project managers in planning, executing, and monitoring IT projects by developing project plans, tracking progress, managing risks, and communicating with stakeholders.

  • Collect, clean, and analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can inform decision-making.

  • Develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations using tools such as Tableau or Power BI to communicate findings to leadership and other stakeholders.

  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies, machine learning techniques, and data science methodologies to determine their potential value and applicability to the Air Force mission.

  • Attend and participate in industry events, review research papers, and conduct pilot projects to stay updated on the latest technological advancements.

Qualifications:

  • Active Secret Clearance required.

  • Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in data analysis, database management, and data visualization.

  • Strong programming skills in such as Python, R, and SQL.

  • Experience with machine learning and statistical modeling techniques.

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data insights for non-technical audiences.

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Knowledge of the defense industry and the AFWERX program is a plus
