Data Scientist/Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Scientist/Analyst to support the Air Force. The selected candidate will provide data analysis, visualization, and machine learning expertise to enhance decision-making and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:

Gather and analyze requirements by working with various stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into clear and concise data-driven solutions for IT projects and initiatives.

Conduct interviews, workshops, and surveys to collect information and document processes.

Analyze existing workflows and identify areas for improvement through data-driven insights and optimization strategies.

Streamline processes, automate tasks, and implement new technologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Assist project managers in planning, executing, and monitoring IT projects by developing project plans, tracking progress, managing risks, and communicating with stakeholders.

Collect, clean, and analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can inform decision-making.

Develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations using tools such as Tableau or Power BI to communicate findings to leadership and other stakeholders.

Research and evaluate emerging technologies, machine learning techniques, and data science methodologies to determine their potential value and applicability to the Air Force mission.

Attend and participate in industry events, review research papers, and conduct pilot projects to stay updated on the latest technological advancements.
Qualifications:

Active Secret Clearance required.

Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.

Proven experience in data analysis, database management, and data visualization.

Strong programming skills in such as Python, R, and SQL.

Experience with machine learning and statistical modeling techniques.

Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data insights for non-technical audiences.

Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Knowledge of the defense industry and the AFWERX program is a plus
