Position Summary

Energetiq is seeking a Data Scientist to join a dynamic and innovative technology company. This role requires advanced analytical acumen and solution , possesses critical thinking skills, and has the expert knowledge to maintain good data and privacy policies and practices. The Data Scientist is expected to be a technology leader, and to make timely and informed decisions aligned to the company’s IT and business strategy. They will mentor and guide data analysts and power users in dashboarding and reporting, collaborating with management, stakeholders, process experts, internally and externally, in a manner that enhances the business value of data.

The Scientist will primarily take the lead on grooming, governing, and securing Energetiq’s entire data estate, ensuring and auditing proper access to clean, correct, and complete information at all times. As part of their project work, the Scientist will translate user and business needs to technical and project specifications. With the cooperation of IT, EQ project management, and inter-department teams, the Scientist will create and deploy data-driven solutions, ensuring timely and effective project completion.

Some of the Scientist’s time will be spent on innovating and incorporating new technologies into data access and company systems. Innovation projects in AI modeling and data interfacing will be required, and demonstrated skills and creativity in this area will be highly in the hiring process.

This role is hybrid, requiring physical presence in the EQ building in Wilmington, MA, 3 days a week. Domestic and International Travel is expected to be less than 10%.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion and implement AI initiatives
  • Facilitate the ingestion of data from various sources into the EQ Azure Data Lake, ensuring data integrity and consistency. Manage pipelines and workflows using tools such as Azure Data Factory, or other ETL solutions
  • Combine and homogenize Data Lake and other historical data repositories with SAP S4/HANA ERP, creating and maintaining an “EQ Business Objects” analytics source platform
  • Organize and manage the storage of data within the data lake, including folder structures, file formats, and data partitioning strategies. Monitor and optimize data lake and other data storage usage to ensure efficiency, speed, and cost-effectiveness
  • Monitor data and systems to detect and mitigate potential security risks, privacy or compliance violations, and data breaches
  • Work with and mentor data consumers and subject matter experts to develop reporting capabilities, bridging across multiple data sources. Be an advocate for reports and data sources, raising awareness and suggesting process improvements using data, reporting, and modeling
  • Act as backup for other IT team members, and other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, Computer Science, or related field
  • Demonstrated projects in AI modeling and model programming
  • Experience in working with large datasets, deriving insights and presenting information through cloud analytics systems (PowerBI, SAP, QLIK, or other analytics platforms)

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in data engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, or related field
  • 2+ Experience with SAP S4/HANA data and programming
  • AI certifications and/or 2+ years commercial/business experience
  • MS Azure certifications, in particular data certifications
