As a  Database Adminstrator, you should have strong experience as a DBA, including hands-on experience in SQL Server Administration, administration, performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting on premise as well as Cloud.

As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for:

  • Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server instances, including SQL Server clustering, replication, and AlwaysOn
  • Monitor database performance, implement performance tuning, and optimise SQL queries
  • Plan and execute database backups, restoration, and disaster recovery plans
  • Implement and manage database security (user roles, permissions, data encryption)
  • Ensure compliance with organisational and regulatory requirements regarding data security and privacy
  • Diagnose and resolve database-related issues, including availability, performance, and data integrity problems
  • Collaborate with developers to design and implement database schemas, indexes, and stored procedures
  • Review and optimise database designs, queries, and stored procedures for performance and efficiency
  • Manage and apply security patches for SQL Server instances, ensuring that all systems remain up-to-date and compliant with organisational security policies
  • Plan and execute data migrations, including version upgrades and data conversions
  • Implement and manage data integration solutions using SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) or similar ETL tools
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and policies
  • Generate and analyse reports on database performance, usage, and issues

Job Requirements:

Experience:

  • 4-5 years of experience as a SQL Server DBA in a production environment
  • Proven experience with SQL Server versions [2016 & above], including installation, configuration, and maintenance

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and T-SQL scripting
  • Experience with performance tuning, query optimization, and index management
  • Knowledge of SQL Server high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) options
  • Familiarity with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Reporting Services (SSRS), and Analysis Services (SSAS)
  • Experience with cloud-based database solutions (eg, Azure SQL Database) including migration from datacenter to cloud
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for database automation
  • Experience with idera or any other monitoring Tool.
