Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Deepwater Pipeline Engineer to join our team. The primary focus of this role is to work offshore for extended periods, including international assignments, overseeing the pipelay operations on a pipelay vessel. The successful candidate will have expertise in running Orcaflex software to analyze pipeline behavior and ensure safe and efficient installation.
Responsibilities:
· Serve as the Deepwater Pipeline Engineer onboard pipelay vessels, overseeing the installation of subsea pipelines in deepwater environments
· Utilize Orcaflex software to conduct analysis and simulations, ensuring accurate predictions of pipeline behavior, including stress, tension, and fatigue
· Collaborate with project teams to develop detailed pipelay plans, considering factors such as vessel capabilities, weather conditions, and project specifications
· Provide technical support and guidance to the offshore crew, ensuring adherence to safe working practices and quality standards during pipelay operations
· Conduct regular inspections and audits to verify compliance with project requirements, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines
· Monitor pipeline installation progress, identify potential risks or issues, and develop mitigation strategies to maintain project schedule and quality
· Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including geotechnical engineers, structural engineers, and subsea specialists, to ensure seamless integration of pipeline systems
· Prepare technical reports, including post-installation analyses, lessons learned, and recommendations for future improvements
· Stay updated with industry advancements, emerging technologies, and best practices related to deepwater pipeline installation and Orcaflex software
Requirements:
· Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Offshore Engineering or a related field
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in offshore pipeline engineering, specifically in deepwater environments
· Proficiency in running Orcaflex software for pipeline analysis and simulation
· Strong understanding of pipeline installation techniques, including pipelay vessel operations, equipment, and tools
· Offshore Survival training certification such as RigPass, SafeGulf, or BOSIET, including HUET with CA-EBS
· Knowledge of international standards and regulations related to offshore pipeline installation
· Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in challenging offshore environments
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
· Willingness to travel internationally and work on a rotational basis for extended periods (typically two weeks offshore followed by two weeks onshore)
