Deputy Director - Disaster Recovery Engineering

OverviewWe're seeking a highly experienced Product Owner to lead the development and implementation of a holistic approach to business resilience using next-generation technologies. You'll have 10-12 years of experience under your belt and a proven track record of success in disaster recovery (DR), problem management, or change management. You'll be responsible for defining the product vision, roadmap, and backlog, focusing on how these technologies can optimize both DR and problem/change management processes. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, engineering, and business stakeholders, to ensure a seamless and efficient response to disruptions, facilitate smooth transitions during organizational changes, and leverage the power of next-gen solutions to achieve proactive risk mitigation. ResponsibilitiesDR Focus:o Partner with business stakeholders to understand critical business needs and translate them into actionable DR requirements. Conduct workshops and interviews to identify Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPOs) for different business Champion the use of next-gen technologies as described above to optimize DR Develop and maintain a comprehensive DR product roadmap, aligning it with the organization's overall IT strategy and Oversee the development, testing, and implementation of DR solutions leveraging next-gen Conduct regular DR drills and exercises to evaluate the effectiveness of DR plans and identify areas for improvement. Analyze drill results and use findings to update DR documentation and training Maintain awareness of industry best practices and emerging technologies in DR and ensure the organization's DR strategy remains current and effective.Problem/Change Management Focus:o Collaborate with business units to identify and proactively address potential problems that could disrupt operations. Use risk assessments and scenario planning to identify potential issues and develop mitigation strategies, leveraging next-gen technologies for analysis and Develop and implement a standardized change management process, ensuring smooth transitions for new systems, processes, or organizational Utilize next-gen technologies, such as ML and LLMs, to analyze historical data and identify trends that can help prevent future Analyze past incidents and changes to identify trends and implement preventative measures with the help of next-gen Stay up-to-date on industry best practices in problem and change management and advocate for continuous improvement within the organization, leveraging next-gen solutions for optimization.Next-Gen Technologies:This role emphasizes expertise in, and the ability to leverage, the following next-generation technologies:• Generative AI (Gen AI):o Use Gen AI for automated threat detection, incident response simulation, data recovery prioritization, and even self-healing Explore the potential of Gen AI to create synthetic training data for DR drills and simulations.• Large Language Models (LLMs):o Leverage LLMs to analyze vast amounts of historical data, industry trends, and threat intelligence to identify potential vulnerabilities and emerging risks before they become Utilize LLMs to analyze communication during change initiatives and identify areas for improvement in stakeholder engagement.• Cloud Computing: Leverage the scalability, elasticity, and disaster recovery capabilities of cloud platforms to improve overall business resilience.• Machine Learning (ML):Develop and implement ML-powered anomaly detection systems to proactively identify potential problems before they disrupt operations.• Robotic Process Automation (RPA):Automate routine tasks in DR and problem/change management processes, freeing up IT staff to focus on more complex issues. QualificationsBachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Project Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience). exclamation• 10-12 years of experience in disaster recovery planning, problem management, or change management.• Proven experience working with next-generation technologies in a business context is a plus.• Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) preferred.exclamation• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, operations, and business processes.• Excellent communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and analytical skills.• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
