The Design Engineer will work across product lines assisting our engineering team with a variety of design and execution tasks. While identifying potential product and process improvements, the Design Engineer will use 3D modeling and Inventor Suite of software specifically to aid Komline transition from its’ legacy product portfolio to 3D. Additionally, the Design Engineer may support sales, manufacturing, and/or field services teams on technical issues.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Design ongoing work in dryers, dewatering systems, filter presses, filters, and process filtration equipment and rotating machinery
  • Design improvements of assigned products with an emphasis on engineering and problem solving
  • Develop engineered solutions for customer projects
  • Cost reduction leadership (interacts with manufacturing, marketing, and engineering teams to reduce costs)
  • Implements best practices for 3D drafting

Qualifications:

  •  A minimum of B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with 5 years related experience
  • Possess first-rate knowledge of AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor (or SolidWorks) and Vault. A good working knowledge of Office 365
  • Demonstrate skills in mechanical design, including knowledge of power transmission systems, machine components, piping, structural and materials selection relative to rotating equipment, pressure vessels and conveying equipment
  • Possess a good understanding of manufacturing processes with emphasis on process equipment. This includes a working knowledge of piping, structural steel, welding, gears, motors, machinery and fabricating processes
  • Possess knowledge of stress analysis and materials selection
  • Be familiar with a wide variety of fabrication, machining and manufacturing methods
  • Have experience with streamlining engineering processes and implementing product and process improvements
  • A self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team

Nice To Have:

  • PE License or EIT
  • Knowledge of Heat Transfer, Fluid Dynamics, and/or CFD/FEA
  • Knowledge of ASME code for pressure vessels
