Design Engineer I
Overview:
As a key member of the design team, the Mechanical/Electrical Design Engineer applies engineering best practices and subject matter expertise to design and document the complete Mechanical & Electrical requirements for our projects. The Mechanical/Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for creating Piping & Electrical Schematics, sizing various components & valves, work with Electrical Engineer in developing Sequence of operations, and develop manufacturing bills of materials. Our Mechanical Engineers actively work with customers, manufacturing, quality and service departments during manufacturing, systems verification, or field startup. The ideal candidate shall have skills and experience with refrigeration and/or HVAC.
Responsibilities:
Use Refrigeration Knowledge and develop detailed Piping & Electrical Schematics & BOM for various projects.
Use design tools such as DFMEA & also specify test requirements for design validation on any new options.
Use CAD tools in the creation and modification of sheet metal components, compressor systems, heat exchanger assemblies and valves from various manufacturers and suppliers.
Interface with other engineers to verify that data pertaining to product specification is documented accurately.
Manage the technical timeline/schedule for the execution of various projects and ensure delivery on key metrics.
Develop, monitor and manage the execution of test plans for various projects. Make sure that all product changes meet defined product performance, Reliability & Quality standards.
Work with compliance Engineer & other regulatory agencies on projects as required.
Work with engineering peers to optimize product designs for performance, reliability, cost and manufacturability.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or BS in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering required
1- 2 years of experience working as Design Engineer.
Familiar with Commercial Refrigeration/HVAC Engineering concepts, Manufacturing Processes in building Refrigeration/HVAC equipment.
Have a strong understanding of engineering principles, scientific analysis and project management.
Understanding of Brazing, tube bending, welding, basic Electrical & control concepts related to Commercial Refrigeration or HVAC are desired.
Proficient with Solid Edge and Autocad tools for 3D modelling
Individual should have good critical thinking skills and have experience managing and executing development projects.
Individual should have good communication skills, being able to effectively communicate to both technical and non-technical individuals & have good time management skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, manages workload effectively with general direction required. Have the ability to prepare and present technical solutions in order to meet customers’ requirements
Must be a problem solver and able to come up with innovative solutions to real world problems.
Should be able to multi-task.
