Turner Lovell are Recruiting for a Principal Design Engineer, (Building Services) to join their team based in Manchester, on a Hybrid basis. You will be responsible for providing technical design solutions to multiple projects, in both the tender and execution phases.
Responsibilities
- Design of the auxiliary systems to ensure they comply with contract & legal requirements, customer specs, and in alignment with industry standards.
Auxiliary Systems:
- Heating, Ventilation & Cooling (HVAC)
- Plumbing / Hot and Cold-Water systems
- Building energy modelling & Building Reg compliance
- Low carbon design
- Building management system
- Review client supplied enquiry documents & specifications
- Approve technical specification on the auxiliary systems, pre and post contract award for HV projects in line with standards
- Evaluation of supplier's technical document during tender stage.
- Review and approve supplier's drawings and design documents during project delivery stage.
- Provide auxiliary system technical expertise to the engineering department.
- Able to undertake design reviews of subcontractor design packages and to report accordingly on compliance with necessary technical standards.
- Work closely with the engineering planner to develop/ review the project programme.
- Working with the design and project risk registers
- Accountable for managing both their own time, resources, programmes, and budgets in order to be productive in the workplace
Requirements:
- HNC /HND / Degree Qualified in Engineering, Design, Building Services or equivalent.
- Chartered Engineer (or progressing towards chartership / equivalent experience) & Membership of CIBSE equivalent.
- Experience in designing in Dialux, Amtech and /or Hevacomp
- Engineering experience in designing solutions for industrial applications
- Autocad / Revit competence would be advantageous
- The ability to write a "Scope of Service" document is an added bonus
