Design Engineer (Water & Wastewater)\n\nEmployment type: Permanent, full-time\n\nLocation: Remote (You will however be expected to travel to the office in Barnsley twice per month)\n\nHours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week \n\nSalary: £55,000 - £65,000 p.a + 26 days holiday (+ Bank Holidays)\n\nThis is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-growing engineering design consultancy.\n\nThe Design Engineer will design and develop water and wastewater treatment systems, including the selection and sizing of equipment, calculations, and hydraulic modelling.\n\nExample of Responsibilities:\n\nPerform engineering evaluations and feasibility studies for water and wastewater projects, analysing data to identify potential challenges and areas for improvement.\nDevelop comprehensive engineering designs, detailed drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for water and wastewater infrastructure projects.\nWork closely with clients, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders to ensure adherence to environmental regulations and compliance with permitting requirements.\nStay informed about emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in water and wastewater engineering through ongoing research and engagement.\nOffer technical support and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians, promoting a collaborative and growth-focused environment.Essential Skills/Background:\n\nBachelor's degree in civil engineering or equivalent\nExtensive experience in water and wastewater engineering, with a focus on the design and construction of treatment systems, pipelines, and related infrastructure.\nAdvanced proficiency in engineering software, including AutoCAD, hydraulic modelling programs, and data analysis tools.\nStrong knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting processes applicable to water and wastewater treatment facilities.\nExcellent communication skills.\nAbility to work to timescales.\nMust be eligible to work in the UK.You will join a supportive team, in which you will be encouraged to develop and progress your skills.
