Design Manager

Design Manager required in Hampshire



GVR Solutions have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Design Manager to work for a well-established and growing contractor, based in Portsmouth. This opportunity is to join their rapidly growing façade and curtain walling division which mainly work within the Residential, Hospitality, Retail sector plus many more. The role itself is a hybrid role with occasional days being based in the office or on site.



As a Design Manager, you will:



* Ensure all construction drawings and designs are produced on time, to a high quality standard.



* Manage the development and implementation of design proposals and ensure they meet the client’s expectations.



* Adhere to budget constraints to maintain developed design as financially viable.



* Present proposals for approval to the client.



* Oversee the design process using technical expertise.



* Maintain thorough documentation of the design and development.



* Keep up-to-date with changing building legislation and codes of practice relating to design.



* Coordinate the submission of information to satisfy building control compliance.



* Oversee the design of multiple projects throughout the contract period.



The Design Manager must have/be:



* Understanding of fire safety regulations, cladding systems, and materials used in envelope cladding



* At least 5 years experience in cladding and design



* problem solving skills during planning and on site activities



* being able to draw with Auto-Cad or similar to enable management of others



* Communication skills



* Financial awareness



* Time management



* Leadership skills
