Design Manager

Job Description

Salter Grange is working with a leading construction firm on an exciting large-scale, mixed-use development in Walthamstow, London. This project is a combination of residential, retail, commercial, and community spaces. We are seeking an very experienced Design Manager for this high-profile project.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design Coordination: Lead the design process from concept through completion, ensuring it aligns with project goals and timelines.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all design work adheres to relevant UK planning regulations, building codes, and sustainability targets.
• Risk Management: Identify and address potential design risks, ensuring designs meet health and safety standards.
• Quality Assurance: Oversee the design deliverables to ensure they meet the highest quality standards and are delivered within the agreed budget.
• Value Engineering: Contribute to cost-effective design solutions that optimize resources without compromising quality or functionality.
• Client Communication: Serve as a key liaison for clients on design-related matters, ensuring their vision is achieved while keeping them informed of design progress.
• Sustainability Integration: Ensure that all design practices align with the project's sustainability objectives, promoting environmentally friendly solutions throughout the development.
• Document Control: Manage and ensure the accuracy of design-related documentation, including drawings, specifications, and technical information.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in design management, ideally with large residential or mixed-use developments.
• Proven ability to lead design teams and manage multi-disciplinary coordination.
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and project management tools.
