We are currently hiring for a Mobile Equipment Mechanic for a Jacksonville warehouse.

The Mobile Equipment Mechanic must have a highly developed mechanical background with various construction or heavy machinery experience, specifically in repairing hydraulics, electric systems, and diesel engines; responsible for maintenance and repairing of vehicles to meet facility operational requirements under the direction of the Maintenance Manager & Supervisor. Responsibilities include completing work orders, preventative maintenance, and repairs to facilities trucks, forklifts, and chassis.

This position is responsible for:

  • Ability to operate necessary shop/facility test equipment proficiently to perform required duties.
  • Installs and maintains any mechanical components for vehicles or chassis.
  • Demonstrates troubleshooting of several types of facility equipment; technician can skillfully assess equipment and make necessary adjustments or repairs minimizing downtime to assure maximum performance against designed line performance and speeds.
  • Demonstrates consistent ability to perform duties with minimal supervision and communicates well across all departments. He/she shall fully optimize their use of time in conducting and refining preventative maintenance, work orders, rebuilds, and troubleshooting of equipment.
  • Able to effectively use manufacturers and company manuals and/or prints to aid in his or her ability to perform tasks.
  • Plays an active and cooperative role in working as a team member of the Maintenance department and facility; demonstrates open communication between management, department team members, and facility team members; trains lower-level technicians or new team members, as necessary.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalency.
  • 3 years of diesel, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatics experience
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with operations and maintenance personnel.
  • Be able to read, write, and understand English and follow written and/or verbal instructions
  • Continuous education/training in quality assurance/safety is MANDATORY
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills, basic math skills, and measuring
  • Confidence in repairing suspensions, rear ends, transmissions, air brake systems, minor engine work (injectors, turbos, etc.), and more.
