The ideal Diesel Mechanic will possess strong mechanical knowledge and experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and related systems. This role is essential for ensuring the reliability and performance of our fleet, which includes heavy equipment and vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough inspections of diesel engines and related components to identify issues.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks.
• Utilize automotive diagnostics tools to troubleshoot mechanical problems effectively.
• Repair or replace defective parts using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Work on air brake systems, hydraulics, and electrical components as needed.
• Fabricate parts or components when necessary to ensure optimal functionality.
• Operate heavy equipment and forklifts safely during maintenance tasks.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed on each vehicle.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of maintenance schedules.

Qualifications

• Proven mechanical knowledge with a focus on diesel engines and heavy equipment.
• Experience with Caterpillar machinery is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with automotive diagnostics systems and tools.
• Strong understanding of air brake systems and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment, including forklifts, safely and efficiently.
• Previous experience working in a dealership setting is a plus.
• Proficient in electrical troubleshooting related to diesel engines.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
