Summary

Repairs and maintains diesel trucks by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Reads job order and observes and listens to truck in operation to determine malfunction and to plan work procedures
  • Can record clear and concise notes and charge out all parts used via company maintenance management software
  • Can learn and perform Basic PM Services
  • Basic understanding of air systems
  • Preforms air leak inspections Diag. and repair
  • Test, recharge or changes batteries
  • Mount and dismount tires
  • Diagnose and repair brakes, drums and wheel ends with supervision
  • Has a base understanding of suspensions
  • Examine and adjust protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks

Education and/or Experience

High School diploma or equivalent.

Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
