Business Development Director - Pharmacovigilance Safety Systems

Position Overview:

Our client is seeking an experienced Director of Business Development specializing in Pharmacovigilance/ Healthcare/Life Sciences Safety Systems to lead New Business Development efforts in United States. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in Business Development, selling software solutions within the pharmaceutical industry, possessing a deep understanding of pharmacovigilance regulations and safety systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve company sales targets and expand market share within the Pharmacovigilance Safety Systems sector.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, stakeholders, and potential clients in pharmaceutical companies.
  • Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and alliances to drive sales growth and market penetration.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, product development, and consulting to ensure alignment and success in meeting client needs.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and competitor activities, providing insights and recommendations to enhance the company's competitive position.
  • Prepare and present regular sales reports, forecasts, and progress updates to senior management.
  • Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing sales team, providing guidance, support, and motivation to ensure individual and collective success.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies
  • Prepare operational and financial sales department reports
  • Directly coordinate cross-selling and joint marketing initiatives to maximize exposure and profitability
  • Strong leadership skills

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Sales, Marketing, or related field; Master’s degree .
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in Business Development within the pharmaceutical industry, specifically in Pharmacovigilance Safety Systems or related software solutions.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets and driving revenue growth.
  • In-depth knowledge of pharmacovigilance regulations and understanding of pharmaceutical safety systems.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to identify and capitalize on market opportunities.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.

  • Experience working with a diverse portfolio of pharmacovigilance software solutions.
