Job Posting: Director of Engineering - Manufacturing (Alabama)
Company Overview: Stable and growing manufacturing company is seeking a Director of Engineering to join the team in Alabama. This is a key leadership position where you will drive engineering efforts for both existing and new products, while coordinating day-to-day activities with the Engineering and Structuring Team leaders at our facility.
Position Overview: As the Director of Engineering, you will:
· Lead the Engineering and Structuring departments to meet customer requirements.
· Oversee design, new product development, product testing, and cost reduction efforts.
· Foster collaboration within your team and with other departments to ensure project success.
· Mentor and coach team members to strengthen working relationships and improve overall team performance.
Salary Range:
$140,000 - $180,000 (based on prior experience, education, and skillset)
Desired Qualifications:
· Proven success leading an engineering team in a fast-paced production environment.
· Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and design (Solidworks or Solid Edge experience ).
· Solid understanding of strength of materials, load path analysis, and failure mode.
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Industrial Design.
· Strong technical skills in manufacturing processes and methods.
· Knowledge of engineering compliance programs (e.g., NSF, UL, and electrical code).
· Passionate about creative design and turning innovations into real-world products.
· Experience with electrical designs and electronics, including wireless technology, is a plus.
· Familiarity with materials such as wood, composites, and plastics is a plus.
