Director of Maintenance responsibilities include:
- Managingengineering and maintenance projectsend-to-end
- Coordinating internal teams, including engineering, mechanics, tool room, maintenance PM schedulers
- Implementing new systems
- Collaborate with Corporate cross engineering teams on new or enhanced processes.
Job Summary
The director of maintenance position will lead our engineering department and help us build and maintain efficient and safe workplaces. The director will manage our infrastructure and ensure all internal systems operate securely and effectively. This role maintains responsibility over four production plants.
To be successful in this role, you should be confident managing our teams while, at the same time, setting goals, budgets, and timelines for various projects all while maintaining a safe workplace. We also expect you to oversee our integrations with external partners and oversee all development plans from ideation to execution. Assure we use innovative technologies that maximize our productivityand help our company grow.
Responsibilities
- Hire, maintain and develop a competent team of mechanics.
- Oversee front-end and back-end engineering and maintenance teams and their projects.
- Ensure compliance with Cal OSHA regulations and industry standards.
- Prepare and manage the maintenance departments budget.
- Design strategies for future development projects based on the companys overall objectives and resources.
- Identify and recommend leading technological and systems improvement three to five years out when planning capital Implement innovative technologies.
- Coordinatewith internaland external stakeholders for new integrations and tools.
- Be confident in preparing RFPs, presentation, and quoting projects.
- Review and update policies relevant to internal systems and equipment
- Work closely with theVP of Corporate Capital
- Work closely with general managers at each location
- Excellent communications skills both written and spoken. Presentations skilled are a must.
Requirements and skills
- Work experience of 5 to 8 years as a director of maintenance or in a similar senior-level position at a maintenance department
- Previous experience with managing teams
- Manage software development projects by setting requirements, goals, and timelines.
- Extensive experience with cloud technologies and modern human-computer interfaces
- Hands-on experience in back-end and front-end execution of maintenance and engineering plans and projects
- Excellent understanding of agile methodologies
- Leadership abilities with a strategic mindset
- Excellent and demonstrated project management skills
- BSc/MSc in Engineering, specific to Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering or Computer Science or Industrial Engineering fieldrequired.
