Compensation: $140-$200K plus terrific benefits

 

SUMMARY

 

Seeking a Director of Operations, responsible for the strategy and operations of power energy division (Propane generators - Including commercial, residential and mobile) serving business in the Western United States.  The successful candidate must demonstrate a high degree of accountability, integrity, possess superior interpersonal and customer service skills, and be adept at building strong relationships with vendors and with staff at all levels.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

·        Work with the Executive Team, and other key stakeholders to formulate strategy.

·        Deep understanding of the electric power market and associated power generation technologies.

·        Identify and capitalize on opportunities in incumbent and emerging markets.

·        Complete understanding of current and new power generation technologies and how they can/will be applied in the marketplace.

·        Development and execution of sales and service delivery plans with a focus on overall growth as well as recurring revenue and service plan sales.

·        Develop and implement policies and procedures governing sales and installation with an emphasis on safety.

·        Ability to build strong relationships and effectively coordinate and leverage a matrixed resource team within retail operations (division managers, sales, service technicians, etc.).

·        Take an active role in the development of training curriculum and the training and performance management of sales staff, service technicians and electricians.

·        Ensure financial performance meets or exceeds plan.

·        Vendor Relationships and Purchasing including evaluate, choose, and build strong relationships with vendors based on their ability to provide products that meet strategic goals.

·        Negotiate purchase orders and contracts with vendors.

·        Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities in the event of suboptimal vendor performance.

·        Participate in Executive Team meetings and other management meetings as requested.

·        Evaluate and execute business strategies and projects.

·        Contribute cross-functional skills and knowledge to business decisions.

·        Represent and exemplify the culture and values of to all employees, customers, and other stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

·        At least 5 years of experience leading a business unit is required.

·        Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering or equivalent experience.

·        MBA is preferred.
