Director of Operations, Remediation
The Opportunity: Are you a seasoned construction professional with a passion for leadership and innovation? Look no further! We're seeking a dynamic Director of Operations to lead our high-performing Remediation team in Ontario. You will play a crucial part in overseeing and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of our Remediation Program. In this role, you'll inspire and mentor our growing team, drive contract execution, optimize processes, manage resources and budgets, and mitigate risks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in large-scale projects in the pre-contract phase, effective risk management practices and governance experience, and the ability to support delivery and control of strategic projects in accordance with commercial policies and procedures. Cultivate a collaborative, accountable, and innovative culture. Coordinate and spearhead contract and subcontract development and execution across all operations. You will be a process optimization champion: Identify areas for efficiency enhancement and implement best practices. Streamline preconstruction and project management processes. Optimize productivity by managing personnel, equipment, and technology. You will be a financial & risk steward: Develop and oversee the operations budget. Monitor financial performance and implement cost-control measures. Guide Project Controls and Finance personnel in accurate forecasting and cost/value reporting. Assess and mitigate operational risks. Implement safety and compliance protocols. What you'll bring to WSP: A university degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Business, or other related field. More than 10 years of related experience in an engineering consulting, construction, energy, or natural resources. Demonstrate strong financial management skills, including budget development, tracking, and forecasting for annual budgets exceeding $100M. Exhibit excellent knowledge of commercial, economic, and business aspects related to the construction industry. Experience handling the preparation and administration of commercial contracts, cost-value analysis and reporting. Eligible for CNL Reliability Status security clearance ( individual must have 3 full years of verifiable current history in Canada, USA, UK, New Zealand and/or Australia ).
