Position Summary

The Director of Supply Chain is responsible for establishing and maturing core supply chain functionality in Profile Products. Key strategic focus will be on the fundamental linkage of supply and demand decisions through an installed SIOP process, a roadmap for improvements in inventory and freight investments, and a design of information flow through the enterprise that links the organization and its value creation centers.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Formalize and run the end‐to‐end SIOP process for the company – demand, supply, and materials planning – being the vital link between the commercial and operations teams driving what gets purchased, what gets produced and what gets put in stock. Develop the structural elements necessary to support key leaders in a best-in-class SIOP approach.
  • Professionalize supply chain and logistics processes across the company to enable growth. Assess key structures, processes and tools in place and develop a roadmap to improve the outcomes for the business through a combination of best practice implementation, centralization of appropriate tasks and restructuring of local responsibilities.
  • Work with operations, finance and other functions to continuously improve processes and services executed by and/or interfacing with supply chain and logistics.
  • Set metrics and targets for demand, materials and supply planning and measure performance against these.
  • Balance service, cost, and inventory according to enterprise and site strategies. Ensure the balance is tailored to the specific needs of the business / site / Customer.
  • Actively drive enterprise solutions (e.g., ERP utilization/extension). Lead supply chain and logistics team members in these endeavors and collaborate with colleagues in other functions.
  • Develop logistics services in concert with growth strategies for the businesses. Develop or improve processes, set metrics, partner with external entities as needed to meet service levels.
  • Responsible for evaluating and recommending new technologies to support new and existing product lines.
  • All other duties assigned.

Job Requirements

Education: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor’s degree required with a preference for Business, Finance, Supply Chain/Procurement or a related discipline. MBA or other advanced degree .
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.

  • At least 5 years of managerial and leadership experience in supply chain and/or logistics and at least 7 seven years of cumulative leadership experience in any function
  • Deep experience managing planning and logistics functions and running an effective SIOP process; experience of standing up a new SIOP process or reengineering an existing one.
  • Must be able to seamlessly manage end‐to‐end supply chain and logistics functions.
  • Deep understanding of supply chain and logistic processes and the interface to the commercial, operations and finance functions.
  • Deep familiarity with planning, manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution operations, and related process interfaces.
  • Deep working knowledge of core processes (e.g., order to cash) and enterprise software like ERP, TMS, etc.
  • Prior experience building a supply chain organization and processes.
  • Outstanding leader, capable of building a strong team, improving processes, and putting new processes and concepts in place where necessary.
  • Able to understand and make improvements on a variety of supply, logistics and business models.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi‐task and manage priorities in a fast‐paced environment; ability to meet deadlines and timing requirements.
  • Collaborative and nimble. Able to dynamically balance commercial needs against operational efficiencies.
  • Able to span tactical to strategic thinking and seamlessly link day‐to‐day execution to long‐term strategy. Willing to roll‐up own sleeves and do the detailed work if/when necessary, but comfortable and capable of providing direction to a multi‐ functional team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Can articulate tactics and strategy to executives as well as front line staff.
  • Excellent process and organizational and analytical skills.

  • The individual possesses fine hand manipulation (keyboarding) skills.

  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as a computer, phone, printer/scanner, and filing cabinets.
  • The temperature will vary from hot to cold, depending on the weather.
