Group/Division

The KLA Global Workplace Services (GWS) team is passionate about enabling the business goals and company culture through the delivery of workplace environments and services that foster teamwork, innovation and productivity. Our team runs a worldwide portfolio of over 3 million square feet, 135 sites and over 12,000 employees. In addition to ensuring the workspace and manufacturing facilities operate seamlessly, this group also provides employee and site services, such as cafeteria, transportation, security, and safety. The team is responsible for all construction and site improvement work to enable the business needs as well as align with the financial requirements.

The GWS team strives to elevate the workplace experience through intelligent solutions that foster innovation and productivity. To achieve our mission, we now require a seasoned workplace services professional to manage the project and planning team for North America.

The GWS Director of projects and planning requires the following responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a team of diverse and experienced project management and planning professionals to ensure the successfully delivery to meet the KLA business requirements.
  • Build and execute against space roadmaps for all offices/lab/cleanroom to meet business needs.  Collaborate with key customer contacts to forecast future needs for office, R&D, engineering, and manufacturing space.
  • Lead strategic and multi-functional infrastructure improvement programs by developing preliminary requirements, defining program goals and develop ways to measure program work, execution, and compliance
  • Run high visibility projects alongside the GWS project management team. Track project results and coordinate project status updates. Provide quarterly project summaries for executive level presentations.
  • Track project budget forecasts and status key customers and management with progress against plan.
  • Review site planning and design for new building construction, remodels, lab and cleanroom installs, value engineering, build code compliance, and building permitting.
  • Monitor and report the performance of key regional contractors, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Select and contract vendors based on procurement guidelines and standards.
  • Learn how KLA products integrate with the facility infrastructure for install specifications and utility consumptions. Work with business partners and customers, engineers, designers, consultants, and contractors to plan, monitor, and close projects accordingly.
  • Partner closely with GWS EH&S team to maintain KLA service and safety standards. Help establish guidance to ensure conformance to federal and local regulations and company policies. Review hazardous material requirements and bridge any facility and tool usage gaps.
  • Work closely with the GWS Operations team to integrate old and new systems and guide construction with future maintenance activities considered.
  • Create ROM level project cost estimates and schedules for scenario analysis and funding approval.
  • Setup relationships with local government to understand local permit processes and assist in expedition of planning and construction activities.
  • Research the latest products and technology surrounding Class 100 cleanroom construction. Bring ideas to KLA to improve upon current designs.
  • Complete site visits, as required, to supervise project progress and customer happiness.
  • Provide recommendations for KPI tracking and benchmarking.
  • Assist in creation of CAD standards and project close-out checklists for detailed as-built record keeping and document control.
  • Any other related duties

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
  • Experience in managing people in a high-tech work environment
  • Understands move and planning processes
  • Applicant should possess excellent written and verbal skills, strong attention to detail, and a focus on customer service
  • Knowledge and experience in contractor management is essential
  • Able to work independently and meet schedules while working in a team-oriented environment
  • Deep understanding of facilities ecosystem: strategic sourcing, supply chain management, facilities management, and project management
  • Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Held position(s) in relevant or manufacturing environments
  • Customer focused by responding promptly and appropriately to customer requests and understanding business needs
  • Ability to clearly and concisely work with people that have no knowledge of the building systems
  • Ability to set goals and lead a team to success
  • Analytical and strategic problem-solving capabilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Projects and PowerPoint.
  • Preferred knowledge in AutoCAD
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally

Minimum Qualifications

  • Masters Level Degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience OR

  • Bachelors Level Degree with a minimum of 12 years of experience OR

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
